Peaceful Yet Vibrant With Life

Have you ever just wanted to get away from the

congestion of city life and retreat to a peaceful setting in the woods and countryside...to plant a beautiful organic vegetable or monarch garden, build a blue bird house or pursue your craft in a retreat in nature at its best.  With the sun filtering through pine trees in the daytime and the moon and the stars shining brightly at night and behind a private gate, Hideaway Glen Nature Retreats LLC offers all of that!  Only approximately 6 acres of the site's total 36 acres  are open to lease for tiny homes.  The remainder will be left in the land's virgin state with the exception of trails to the wetland pond and picnic area at one end of the site and to the small flowing creek in the forest at the other end of the site.

The east Texas forest is one of the most extensive forest systems in the U.S. Hideaway Glen intends to protect this native forest that is home to so many creatures and such lush native vegetation. The trees purify the air, sequester carbon and provide habitat for a dense mixture of plants and animals. These forest lands absorb rainfall, refill groundwater aquifers, reduce floods and maintain watershed stability and resilience. Hideaway Glen Nature Retreats LLC is a special woodland retreat.

Hello

At one time this site was featured in Texas Highways Magazine as a beautiful "Hideaway For the Arts".  Today featured artist, writer and environmentalist Laurenn Prater Barker is opening the 36 acres as Hideaway Glen Nature Retreats LLC dedicated to wildlife preservation with minimal disturbance of the environment.  The site has been designated as a Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation .  The project will indeed be a "hideaway"; perfect for environmentalists, artists, writers, retirees and weekend escapees from the cities.  As one enthusiast said, "instead of paving over the land, Hideaway Glen will be celebrating it...it will be a non- development".

"Hideaway Glen is a celebration of Mother Earth.  This wildlife habitat provides water from a 200' underground well and a pristine 2 acre pond and a free flowing woodland creek.  We are planting native gardens to provide abundant food sources to support an ecosystem for pollinators and local wildlife such as songbirds, hummingbirds, bees, butterflies and deer.

Hideaway Glen Nature Retreats are located just south of Tyler Texas in the Piney Woods.  Accessed via Hwy 69, the area is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful in Texas. It is lush and green with lakes and recreational amenities everywhere.  The area is also a thriving medical and business community and the home of the University of Texas at Tyler., a part of the excellent University of Texas system.  The site is approximately 1 1/2 hours from Dallas, two hours from Houston and three hours from Austin.  Tyler has a convenient airport to fly in to and there is a small private airport within approximately 30 minutes of the site. Close but away...a beautiful retreat.

Hideaway Glen and the Woods of Hideaway Glen are together 36 acres although only a little over 6 acres are forest mulched for tiny homes. It will be a sweet hamlet of 8 home sites, each  approximately 1/2 acre.  There will be septic provided from an aerobic septic system and water will be provided from a 200' well that has been purified for perfect potability.  Electric services are provided by the Cherokee County Rural Electric Cooperative and Internet is available.  Home owners can also provide their own solar if preferred.
